Catarina Real (1992, Barcelos)
Works at the intersection of artistic practice and theoretical research in the expanded fields of painting, writing and choreography; mostly in long-term collaborative projects. She is a doctoral student at the Center for Humanistic Studies at the University of Minho with research that crosses art, love and capital. She is developing Color Therapy, a practice applied between color theory, mail art and choreographic intuition. She was a scholarship holder at the Centro Nacional de Cultura in 2022, writing the book Friday, Alta Tristeza. In 2021 she edited Círculo, with Edições da Ruína; FUTURE – TIME – PAUSE – POINT – LOVE – THOUGHT – BODY – IMAGINATION inserted in the project Fund’Arte – Aldeias Criativas, Beira Baixa nucleus of the Public Art Program Fundação EDP and Manual Fantasma in co-authorship with José Costa and support from the Board Northern Culture Region. Still in 2021, care for the exhibition-living Comunidade at Plataforma Revólver; participation in the group exhibitions Homework 2 at Galeria Madragoa; Uteropias, Kubik Gallery and Erro 417, Porto Municipal Gallery; and in the duo exhibitions Concentrated Exhibition and Shared Exhibitions with David Revés, at Thirdbase Studio and THE FALL with Lorraine Druon at Galeria do Sol. In 2022 she participated in the Ciclo das Amizades with LOVE MAKES US DRUNK; with David Revés, she created the postal project Addressed Exhibitions-60 portable exhibitions sent by postal mail and the individual exhibition A MINHA LEFT IS YOUR RIGHT in A Graciosa.
