Rita Garcia Fernandes

Rita is a nature writer. She was born in 1989 in Lisbon, where she graduated in Journalism and did post-graduate studies in Storytelling at ESCS. She has a master’s degree in Communication Sciences from FCSH and have studied the practice of writing as a care.

She’s the author of the children’s book “As Cores da Cidade Cinzenta”, published by the High Commission for Migrations and distributed to over 3.500 public schools in Portugal in She also wrote the youth novel “Quem chama pelo Senhor Aventura?”.

Librettist of the chamber opera project “Outra Margem” of European Network of Opera Academies with the composer Nuno da Rocha.

Winner of the II Literary Prize Cidade Poesia (Brazil), with the short story “O Polvo”, and of the Bolsa Jovens Criadores 2017 with the literary project that included an artistic residency in Pampilhosa da Serra and the creation of a novel about the countryside.
