Filipa Margarida Pereira

Filipa Margarida Pereira (1981) was born in Tomar, Portugal.

She started her music studies at age four. She graduated in Music in 2005, at the Lisbon Superior School of Music (Lisbon), where she studied with Pedro Couto Soares. She participated in several masterclasses with famous flutists. She studied recorder at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Paul Leenhouts, where she graduated in Music in 2009. In 2011, at the same institute, she graduated in Music in Baroque Bassoon with Benny Aghassi.

Since 2006, Filipa plays with The Royal Wind Music. With this group, Filipa performed several concerts in Holland, Spain, United States (Boston Early Music Festival), Portugal, England, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy. She has recorded several CDs and can be heard and seen regularly on radio and TV.

Filipa is a recorder teacher at Southeast Music Center and Stichting Muziek op Maat, and a teacher of AMV at primary and community schools in Amsterdam Southeast and teacher of bassoon at the Leerorkest Foundation. Filipa enjoys teaching children and adults. She has a lot of experience with individual and group lessons at all levels. She also enjoys teaching children with disabilities (music wheel).
