Fatima Fonte (1983) studied composition at ESMAE (Porto) and at Conservatorium of Music of Amsterdam. She was also in India studying Hindustani Music with singer Aparna Gurav with a scholarship from Fundação Oriente.
Some of her pieces were played at Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (United Kingdom), Gaudeaumus Music Week (Netherlands), Atlante Sonoro Festival (Rome), and numerous Portuguese concert halls and theatres.
In 2017-2018 she was a Young Composer Associated with Teatro Nacional de São Carlos; in 2019 Orquestra Gulbenkian played her piece Breve Desassossego.
She is currently a PhD researcher at Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London).
