Albino Mahumana was born in 1970 in LM, now Maputo, the son of a painter.
In 1994 he completed a course in black and white photography at CFF, directed by Ricardo Rangel, and in 1996 he studied still life and advertising photography at the same institution.
He has participated in a number of workshops, including the East Africa Photography Workshop in Nairobi, Kenya in 1999, and a photojournalism course organised by the Nordic-SADC Journalism Centre in Maputo in 2000.
He currently works as a photo-reporter for ‘Demos’, an independent weekly newspaper. In his free time he engages in the plastic arts and music. He is married with two children and he lives and works in Maputo.
